McLaren Vale is a Wine Lovers' Favourite

The McLaren Vale wine region - with the theme of where the vines meet the sea, is about 10 minutes from Sellicks Beach. It is famous for its Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc varieties.

You can indulge yourself at the Saturday Willunga Farmers Market with delicious autumn offerings of:

  • goat cheeses, free range eggs and venison
  • plums, quince, grapes, apples and
  • spinach, eggplant, olives, parsnips, mushrooms and herbs

Local Award Winner

Within Sellicks Beach itself, The Victory Hotel Restaurant features chef Kane Ellis, who amongst many other recent awards won Fleurieu Peninsula Food Chef of the Region in 2006.

The restaurant seats 60 patrons inside and 40 outside, has 8,000 cellared bottles and magnums and recently featured in the Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine's Top 45 World Wine Lists.
